The Voice of the Martyrs will host the annual International Day of Prayer for Persecuted Christians this Sunday and throughout November.

This day is dedicated to a worldwide prayer gathering for persecuted Christians who bravely testify to Christ in the world’s most dangerous mission fields. The global body of believers demonstrates unity through their earnest prayers, which are found only in Christ. May God inspire us as we enter into fellowship with our persecuted Christian family,” the description reads on VOM’s website.

According to Geopolitical Intelligence Services (GIS), an average of 13 Christians are killed daily because of their faith.

The Voice of the Martyrs didn’t come up with the idea for this day, and that’s important to me. Todd Nettleton from The Voice of the Martyrs USA clarified to Mission Network News that American Christians were not the ones who came up with the idea.

The Voice of the Martyrs provides many digital resources for the International Day of Prayer. Share them with your pastor, whoever leads your small group, and tell him, ‘Hey, this is coming up; I want to ensure our church is involved,'” he continued.

People in a congregation need to share their thoughts with pastors. Make sure your pastor is aware of the importance this holds for you.

The ministry shared a video on YouTube featuring the story of a boy raised in a Buddhist home who converted to Christianity after his teacher read him the Scriptures.

According to Nettleton, the video aims to enhance our prayers by humanizing the persecuted Christians we pray for.

Ensure your church or small group gets involved in praying for persecuted Christians.

“If you’re in leadership at a church, maybe you’ve already planned everything that will happen on November 5. Okay, pick November 12 [or] November 19,” Nettleton concluded. Don’t forget to request prayers from your church for our persecuted
